Review

Gautam (Prakash Raj) is an IAS topper. His father (Vizag Prasad) is also a retired IAS officer. Indira @ Indu (Bhoomika) is a gold medalist in MBA who wants to dedicate her education for the benefit of poor farmers in villages. However, by the time she returns to her home, her father (Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao) tells her that he had fixed her marriage with Gautam, son of his childhood friend, without even expecting her consent. She gets married and almost becomes a servant in the family. She gives birth to a girl child in her first attempt, which Gautam doesn’t like. In no time, he wanted a second child and again Indu delivers a girl, within three months of delivery, Gautham shares bed with Indu with a strong desire to get a boy to save his clan against the wishes of Indu. Though Gautam is an honest IAS officer, he is quite rude and behaves like a normal human being with his wife. Indu maintains silence and finally delivers a baby boy in the third issue. Gautham always gives preference to his son and keeps ignoring his daughters. He wanted to join his son in an international school unlike his daughters who were studying in an ordinary convent. At this juncture, Indu, Gautam and the children go to a temple, where Indu meets his collegemate. She passes MBA in third class but becomes an MD of several companies. She feels pity at Indu for remaining a normal housewife, despite bagging a gold medal in MBA. So Indu realizes what she lost all those days and begins her protest. She stops doing household chore and expresses her opinion to a friend, who supports her. So, Indu begins an agitation that why women should be restricted to kitchens and to bring up children and remain a child producing machines. She fights for the identity and importance of a woman in a life. The agitation grows and they plan a huge meeting in Nizam College grounds. While going to attend the meeting, Indu injures in road accident. Then Gautham realizes all his follies and admits all his mistakes. The film ends on a happy note with a big lecture on the value of woman in one’s life.

Performance:

Prakash Raj gave a good performance as a strict IAS officer and as a rude husband. Bhoomika too played a nice role as a patient housewife and a woman who revolted against her husband for her individual rights. Sivaparvati, Vizag Prasad, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and others did justice to their respective roles. Tanikella Bharani, Babu Mohan, Venumadhav, Krishna Bhagawan, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao and others entertained the audiences with their performance with different kinds of comedy.

Technical:

There are three songs. Of them one is duet and another one is a sorrow song by Bhoomika cursing her fate, and the third one is an agitational song. None of them are catchy. Chinna’s background score is okay, though the tunes for the songs are not that interesting. Dialogues are good in parts. Cinematography is just okay while editing is average. The film has nothing to offer as the movie just runs on how a sincere collector works and a parody of events that generally appears near secretariat, the bribery in offices, the transfer of officials etc. Director Kripakar Reddy planned the film in one way but could not narrate the story properly. Even the climax was very poor as the agitation by thousands of woman gets fizzled with the admission of just the husband of the leader of the agitation, which is not convincing.

Remarks:

Audiences are not in a mood to listen to messages through long speeches of the artistes these days and they come to the theatres for entertainment. If the film doesn’t offer entertainment, there is no meaning behind watching it. A boring film which could easily be avoided.
